I was recently approached by an individual (who I can’t name) that had to present “Social Networking Tactics” for their manager…in 15 hours from now! This is our interaction:
Question – I have a meeting with my manager in the AM. I want to have joined the top 10 social networking sites. I wanted your opinion on that
Answer – I understand your AM timeline with the manager and I’m going to give you 2 articles that will make you sound like the expert.

Both are great articles I would highly suggest, but the point I am trying to get at is that for every question you may have, somebody out there has already answered it. The hard part is knowing which sites are trustworthy and when to stop researching. That is an entirely different discussion, but for now I’ll leave you with this. If you want to truly harness the power of social networking, make sure not to neglect the marketing basics like SEO, E-Mail and other campaigns.
Now I’m going to work on my next article: “How to manage social networking for your company without losing your mind?” That should be a fun one! Until then, good luck trying to figure it all out.
